Shine International Launches New On-Demand Channel on Roku Streaming Platform
23rd May 2014
Shine International today announces the launch of Shine Now, a branded on-demand content offering and streaming channel.
In a first for the sales and distribution division of Shine Group, Shine Now offers over 200 hours of multi-genre programming from the Shine International catalogue direct to the audience.
Shine Now launches on the Roku® streaming platform from today, initially in the United States, where audiences will have access to a range of drama, entertainment and documentary programming including The School, Got To Dance, The Magicians, Eternal Law and The Sandhamn Murders.
Viewers have the choice of watching content for free with advertising, or paying between $0.99 and $1.99 to rent programmes ad-free.
Nadine Nohr, CEO, Shine International says “Shine Now is our first direct to consumer channel and Roku® have been fantastic partners with whom to develop and launch it. We are excited about its potential and look forward to collaborating with them further to grow its reach in the future.”
The initiative was brokered on behalf of Shine International by Gordon Synn. Synn added: “Our new streaming channel on Roku® brings about new possibilities for Shine International. Roku’s expertise in delivering great entertainment at a touch of a button makes them the perfect launch partner to introduce Shine Now to millions of households in the US.”
