Salmon Fishing In The Yemen Receives 3 Golden Globe Nominations

Shine Pictures, the feature film division of Shine Group, has received 3 Golden Globe® Award nominations for its 2011 film Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.

The film has picked up nominations for:

Best Motion Picture, Comedy

Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical: Ewan McGregor

Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical: Emily Blunt.

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen is directed by Lasse Hallström and produced by Lionsgate UK in association with Shine Pictures, BBC Films and the UK Film Council. Stephen Garrett is executive producer for Shine Pictures. Zygi Kamasa is executive producer for Lionsgate. Jamie Laurenson also serves as executive producer, Paul Webster is a producer and Nicky Kentish Barnes is coproducer.

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen is directed by Lasse Hallström and stars Ewan McGregor, Emily Blunt and Kristin Scott Thomas. Based on the 2007 novel of the same name by Paul Torday, and a screenplay by Simon Beaufoy, the film is about a fisheries expert who is recruited by a consultant to help realize a sheikh’s vision of bringing the sport of fly fishing to the Yemen desert, initiating an upstream journey of faith to make the impossible possible. The film was shot on location in London, Scotland, and Morocco, premiering at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival.
