Shine International, the sales and distribution arm of Shine Group, has today at the LA Screenings 2012, agreed a major new factual and entertainment package with Turner Broadcasting Latin America, bringing morethan 200 hours of primetime programming to the broadcaster.

The deal includes the premiere of the top rated FOX series Mobbed and Channel 4 UK’s critically acclaimed 24 Hours in A&E, which premiered in the UK last week with top performing numbers. The deal follows on from the hugely successful airing of Shine’s MasterChef USA on Turner.

Today’s deal was brokered by Matt Vassallo, VP – International Sales, USA, Canada and Latin America at Shine International and Analía Pollero, Acquisitions Manager at Turner Broadcasting.

Matt Vassallo said, “This 200 hours represents our biggest deal yet with Turner for Latin America and we’re confident their millions of households will be excited by the arrival of these top rated and iconic shows for its wide range of channels”

The new programming deal will include the FOX entertainment series Mobbed (11 x 60’), where host Howie Mandel and hundreds of strangers help special guests plan extraordinary surprises for loved-ones through spectacular flash mob performances. The US series premiered on FOX in late 2011 at 8pm, achieving 10.8 million viewers on its debut and winning a market share of 8.8%, a 44% increase to the channel’s slot which is famed for American Idol.

For its teen viewers, Turner will acquire additional episodes of two long-running MTV hit series, Parental Control (170 x 30’) and Date My Mom (38 x 30’), both unique twists on the dating game genre by including both teens and their parents in the date selection process. For thrill seeking viewers, the deal also includes two seasons of Tapout (19 x 60’), the mixed-martial arts reality series, which will companion the Showtime sports event Strikeforce, returning to Turner with its third season with more than 30 hours of fast-paced action from the world’s most popular mixed-martial arts brand.

The new deal will see the Latin America launch of the top rated Channel 4 UK multi-rig series, 24 Hours in A&E. The critically celebrated 14 part first season follows the drama and emotion from inside London’s busiest A&E centre. The series returned to UK screens on May 16 at 9pm and achieved 2.8 million viewers and a market share of 11.8%, a 69% increase to the broadcaster’s primetime average. Shine International will be promoting the latest season and format of 24 Hours in A&E at LA Screenings.

The news coincides with Shine International screening over 450 hours of new programming at LA Screenings 2012. This includes the first episode preview of Hunted, the thrilling new action drama penned by Golden Globe winning screenwriter Frank Spotnitz (The X-Files) for BBC One & Cinemax.
