Shine Group Announce Deal For MasterChef In China
The deal, reached with Shanghai Media Group (SMG) will see MasterChef produced by, and airing on, SMG’s Dragon TV and was brokered by Mark Fennessy President, Shine Network and Betty Chen Shine International’s Director, Legal & Business Affairs. The 12 x 90 minute series is due to air later this year with production consultancy provided by Shine Network.

MasterChef is the worldwide hit show that sets out on a nationwide quest to find the country’s best amateur cook whose talent, creativity, dedication, technical skill and passion for food could change their lives forever. Successful different variants MasterChef: The Professionals, Junior MasterChef and Celebrity MasterChef have all also launched successfully.
From its original launch in the United Kingdom, MasterChef is now produced in over 30 countries worldwide and broadcast in over 200 territories, breaking ratings records in many including Australia, India and Israel. Recent launches include Malaysia, Peru and South Africa. Additionally, MasterChef has generated in excess of $270 million in global retail revenue through ancillary activity including cookware, live events, publishing and digital properties.
