Shine International Appoints Matthew Ashcroft SVP, Head of Asia Pacific

LONDON, 7th November, 2011 - Shine Group’s sales and distribution arm Shine International has appointed Matthew Ashcroft as the company’s first Senior VP, Asia Pacific, increasing its presence within the region.
In the new role, based out of Shine Australia’s offices in Sydney, Ashcroft will be charged with maximising tape and format exploitation opportunities for all platforms across the Asia Pacific territory, working closely with Director of International Distribution Cyrus Farrokh, Shine Network and reporting to the new head of Shine International, a position currently being recruited.
Joining from MTV Networks International where he was Director of Programme Sales, Asia Pacific for four years in Singapore, Ashcroft has also served at Entertainment Rights, (as Senior Territory manager for the region), and enjoyed successful stints at Fireworks International as well as the Australian Broadcasting Corporation where he began his career in 1996.
The appointment follows Shine International relocating its headquarters from Los Angeles to London and the company’s commitment to increase the level of distribution expertise in Shine’s global production centres of excellence. Shine International also recently announced a dedicated acquisitions team headed by former ITV Studios Global Entertainment executive Noel Hedges.
