The Bridge Triumphs at Crime Thriller Awards 2012

The acclaimed Filmlance production, The Bridge triumphed at the Crime Thriller Awards 2012 held in London last night.

Beating off stiff competition from Homeland, Dexter, Boardwalk Empire and The Killing, the Scandinavian crime drama won the International TV Dagger which is awarded to the best crime thriller programme of the year, produced outside the UK.

Originally debuting in Sweden in September 2011, The Bridge centres on a murder investigation following the discovery of a body on the Öresund bridge between Copenhagen, Denmark and Malmö, Sweden where a detective from each country has to work together to solve the mystery. The series was originally created by Hans Rosenfeldt, Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein and is a Filmlance and Nimbus Film Production. Lars Blomgren is Executive Producer, Anders Landstrom and Bo Ehrhardt producers.

The Bridge has now aired in 55 territories with a second series currently in production
