Kudos and Shine Pictures Confirm Spooks:The Greater Good

Based on the BAFTA-winning international hit TV series, SPOOKS: THE GREATER GOOD is a high-octane espionage thriller produced by Shine Pictures (Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, Eastern Promises) and Kudos (Broadchurch, The Tunnel). Set to shoot the first quarter of 2014, the film is to be directed by Bharat Nalluri who has was the originating director of the TV series as well as successful primetime dramas (Torchwood, Hustle) and the Golden Globe nominated HBO movie, Tsunami: The Aftermath. Written by Spooks collaborators Jonathan Brackley and Sam Vincent, the film will be produced by Jane Featherstone and Stephen Garrett who were behind the TV series for BBC1 and Ollie Madden (Sherlock Holmes), for Shine Pictures.
Charismatic terrorist Adam Qasim escapes from MI5 custody during a routine handover and legendary Head of Counterterrorism, Harry Pearce, is blamed. When the disgraced Pearce disappears one night off a bridge into the Thames, his protégé Will Crombie is called in to help uncover what happened. Could Harry have gone rogue and be complicit in Qasim’s escape? With a devastating attack on London imminent, Will finds himself on the trail of a conspiracy whose threads reach from the rooftops of Vietnam to the shores of the Mediterranean.
