Princess Productions Appoints Victoria Payne To Head Of Comedy Entertainment Role

LONDON, OCTOBER 20th 2011: Princess Productions has appointed former TalkbackTHAMES Deputy Editor of Comedy Entertainment Victoria Payne to the newly established role of Head of Comedy Entertainment.
Reporting to Princess CEO Henrietta Conrad and working closely with Rebecca Papworth, Executive Producer, Comedy, Victoria joins with immediate effect and a brief to help build the company’s comedy offering.
Beginning her career as a researcher at Watchmaker on The Clive James Show, Payne progressed from Associate Producer through to Producer working on a variety of comedy entertainment programmes including Bang Bang, It’s Reeves and Mortimer, Infamous Fives and The Johnny Vaughan Film Show. Working as a freelance Producer for the next 6 years, Victoria worked with some of Britain’s most trusted and loved comedy talent including Paul Merton on Room 101 and Dara O’Briain onTurn Back Time.
In 2005, Victoria was recruited to executive produce The Apprentice Does Comic Relief for TalkbackTHAMES, and was later promoted to Deputy Editor of Comedy Entertainment the following year. During her time at TalkbackTHAMES, Victoria launched and Executive Produced comedy entertainment formats including Celebrity Juice, Richard Bacon’s Beer and Pizza Club, The Rob Brydon Show pilot and My Teenage Diary for Radio 4.
Conrad said of her appointment: “Victoria is an incredibly talented producer, a great addition to Princess and will further broaden our offering. We welcome her warmly to the team here.”
Victoria added: “I’m absolutely delighted to be involved in the next phase of Princess’ growth and am very much looking forward to developing new comedy formats with the team.”
Princess is a multi-skilled production company producing a wide range of shows across several genres, these currently include the third series of Got To Dance (a co-production with Shine TV), long running shows including T4 (Channel 4), The Wright Stuff ( Five) and Something For The Weekend (BBC2) plus the recently announced new dating format ‘The Love Machine’ for Sky Living.
