LONDON, October 20th 2011: Dragonfly Film and Television, the BAFTA award-winning factual producer behind One Born Every Minute and The Family has made a series of new hires and promotions as it continues to bolster its senior team.
Martha Housden joins Dragonfly as Head of Development with immediate effect, with a brief to oversee the development team. Housden was formerly Head of Development for BBC3, where her credits included Junior Doctors: Your Life in Their Hands and the forthcoming Hot Like Us, among others. A trained journalist she has also spent time working in the independent sector at indies including Shine TV, CPL, Maverick and Fresh One, and previously worked at Dragonfly for three months last year where she created the forthcoming Double Weddings (working title) for Sky Living.
Mark Roberts, formerly Dragonfly’s Head of Specialist Factual and Features has been promoted to Head of Factual as part of a restructure that sees Ash Potterton, Dragonfly’s former Head of Development, promoted to Executive Producer, allowing him to work across both shows in production and development.
Finally, Dragonfly has appointed Claire Wingate as Production Executive. She has also worked on This Morning, Teenage Kicks and Embarrassing Bodies. At Dragonfly she will oversee and support productions on a day to day basis.
The new appointments follow the appointment of Dragonfly’s creative director Simon Dickson in June from Channel 4, where he was Deputy Head of Documentaries.
Sanjay Singhal, MD of Dragonfly Film and Television Productions said: “I’m delighted to bolster the senior team with these promotions and new appointments. I feel that we have a first class team in place and will be looking for the right creative talent to add to it as we continue to grow.”
