Shine International Promotes Katrina Neylon to Head of EMEA

Shine International, the sales and distribution arm of the Shine Group, has promoted Katrina Neylon to SVP, Head of EMEA effective immediately.

Neylon, currently VP of Sales, takes up the role vacated by of Ruth Clarke earlier this year. She will report to Shine International CEO, Nadine Nohr.

Leading a team of six, Neylon will be responsible for devising the sales strategy for Shine International-represented programmes throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa across traditional and new media channels. These include acclaimed scripted productions The Hour and Hunted from the Kudos stable, and global Shine Group formats such as MasterChef, One Born Every Minute and Got To Dance.

Neylon is noted for brokering major content agreements across the region. Recent deals include; a package of 250 hours of original programming in 2012 with Discovery Networks in EMEA (which features the market debut of Channel 4’s 24 Hours in A&E and third season of One Born Every Minute); the growth of the MasterChef franchise across EMEA resulting in returning commissions in Holland, Italy, Belgium and South Africa; further unscripted launches with the USA’s Tabatha Takes Over and My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancé which are in production with RTL Group; whilst in scripted, The Hour will screen across six territories in EMEA through Fox International Channels.

Before joining Shine International as Director of Sales in 2011, Neylon was Senior Sales Manager for CEE at The Walt Disney Company and has also served in sales at Twentieth Century Fox Television International.

Nohr said: “This promotion marks the final piece in the jigsaw in the appointment of our regional heads, complementing Matt Ashcroft in Asia Pacific, Matt Vassallo for USA & Latin America and Tania Jacobson for Americas. Katrina has excelled in an acting capacity in this role for the past five months and has extensive multi genre distribution experience.”

Shine International, the group’s international distribution arm is responsible for the distribution of over 3,700 hours of broadcast content annually.
