New Partnership To Cover Future Television Output
Ecosse Films and Shine International today announced a three year, first look deal to represent the multi award-winning drama producers’ television sales and distribution.
The partnership will see Shine International representing finished tape and format rights for Ecosse Films new television output from January 1st 2014 onwards. The deal was brokered by Ecosse Films Founder and Managing Director Douglas Rae with Shine International CEO, Nadine Nohr and SVP, Acquisitions Georgia Brown.
Douglas Rae said: “Shine is a great choice for Ecosse. Liz Murdoch has established a very dynamic, entrepreneurial and inspiring company and Shine International really understands our ambition to grow Ecosse into a truly international company. We already produce the 13-part, hit BBC series Mistresses for the ABC network and have several other projects which will appeal to a global audience.”
Nadine Nohr said: “We are extremely proud of our drama catalogue and delighted to be working with Douglas and his team moving forward. Ecosse are exceptional story tellers with an amazing track record and reputation for creating high end distinctive and internationally appealing drama.”
Specialising in high-quality drama for film and television, Ecosse Films have to date produced over 300 hours of network television for international broadcasters. These include three series of Mistresses for BBC One, whose US remake was recently renewed for a second season by ABC, this year’s Life of Crime for ITV and the long-running Monarch of the Glen (also BBC One). Upcoming productions include Fleming for Sky Atlantic HD, starring Dominic Cooper as the Bond creator and period drama Great Fire of London for ITV. Shine International is responsible for the distribution of over 3,700 hours of broadcast content annually on behalf of Shine Group and a growing number of third party producers and a leader in handling global rights to both non-scripted and scripted formats. Future Ecosse Films television content will next year join a catalogue that includes Kudos’ Broadchurch (which has travelled to over 100 territories globally and is currently being adapted for Fox with Shine America) and two successful adaptations of Filmlance’s Bron in The Tunnel (for Canal Plus and Sky Atlantic HD) and The Bridge (recently re-commissioned by FX)
