JOB PURPOSE OUTLINE:

This is a temporary role to assist with a busy period. We are looking for a resourceful and highly motivated Music Assistant to assist the Director of Music, Shine Group in managing music rights on behalf of Shine Group’s global network of production companies and providing music support to productions across the group. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about Music to build and expand on their skills and experience in the area of Music within TV Production. 

Key Responsibilities

Administrative and production support to Director of Music with a particular focus on:

  • Providing support to Shine Group productions, including researching label and publisher information and arranging music clearances.
  • Sourcing and delivering music and information to programme edits.
  • Compiling tracking and reporting relating to Shine Group’s Music Publishing Catalogue.
  • Organising, cataloguing and exploitation of Shine Group music assets.
  • Ad hoc administrative tasks as required
Skills Knowledge Qualifications & Experience

Experience:

Candidates should have some prior experience either in TV production or within a record label, music publisher, music library or collecting society.  You must be able to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and should be highly organised and motivated with a strong attention to detail.

Skills:

  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task while prioritising their time effectively working to strict production and delivery deadlines.
  • A pro-active attitude with production teams and a meticulous attention to detail with administrative tasks (e.g. checking copyrights for production clearance, compiling registration information, finalizing music reporting).
  • IT literate (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.) & confident with IT based solutions for managing music and information and web based music resources.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge, awareness and passion for music across a range of genres and an understanding and keen interest in its role in audio-visual production.
  • Experience and understanding of music copyright and music licensing.
